Privacy policy

For the website deutsch.skillkraft.ai and the Skillkraft Deutsch app for Android and iPhone. Last updated 9 October 2026. Die Datenschutzerklärung auf Deutsch schicken wir dir gern auf Anfrage.

1. Who is responsible

Sooraj Planku Veedu, trading as skillkraft ai (Skillkraft), Gutzkowstraße 3, 10827 Berlin, Germany.
Email: info@skillkraft.ai. German legal notice (Impressum): skillkraft.ai/de/impressum

2. Your account

To learn, you create an account. We store your name, your email address and your password. The password is stored only as a one-way hash; nobody can read it. If you sign in with Google or Apple instead, Google (through its Firebase sign-in service) or Apple confirms who you are, and we receive only your name and email address. We use this data to run your account and the course (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).

3. Your learning

To teach you and to show your progress, we store what you do in the course: which lessons and steps you have finished, your answers (the text you typed, or the text that speech recognition heard), your exam practice answers, your review cards and results, your XP, streak and daily goal, and the settings you choose at the start (learning path, where you come from, daily minutes, exam date, translation language). We also count how long pages are open, to see which lessons are too long or too hard (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR).

4. Your voice

When you tap the microphone, your phone or browser turns your speech into text: on Android and in Chrome this is Google's speech recognition, on iPhone and in Safari it is Apple's. Google or Apple may process the audio on their servers under their own privacy terms. We never receive or store your audio; only the recognised text reaches us, as your answer. The microphone is only on while you are answering.

5. Your profile, games and the weekly boards

In the app you can add a profile photo, a short line about yourself and a status. All of this is optional, and you can change or remove it at any time. The weekly champions board shows other signed-in learners your first name, your photo, your weekly XP, your streak and your status. We store your photo in our database.

When you play the app's games (for example quick-fire after a lesson, the Berlin treasure hunt and the games on the map), we store each round's score and the chests you have opened, so your best scores and progress follow you to any phone and count towards your XP. Each game shows a weekly top five to other signed-in learners with first name and score only.

6. Emails

We send you a welcome email when you sign up and, if you ask for one, a link to reset your password. We send them through Resend (Resend, Inc., USA), which receives your name, email address and the message. Transfers to the USA rely on the EU standard contractual clauses. When someone signs up with email, our team gets a short note with their name and email address so we can help if something goes wrong.

7. Reminders

The app can remind you to practise once a day. This is off until you turn it on. Reminders are set on your phone only; we do not use push servers and do not collect a device token.

8. Cookies and storage

We set one cookie, frad_session, which keeps you logged in for up to 14 days. It is strictly necessary. The website and the app also keep small settings on your device, such as whether you have seen the microphone note or where you were in a lesson. We use no advertising, no analytics tools and no tracking.

9. Hosting

The website, the app's server and the database run on Google Cloud (Google Cloud Run and Cloud SQL) in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. Google Cloud records technical request data such as IP addresses in its logs to keep the service running and secure (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR); these logs are deleted after at most 30 days. We have a data processing agreement with Google. Where a provider may process data outside the EU, this is covered by the EU standard contractual clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

10. Who sees your data

Only our small team, to run the course and help you. Other learners see only what the champions board and the game boards show (section 5). We never sell your data and never use it for advertising.

11. How long we keep it

As long as you have an account. When you delete your account, we delete your account, your learning data, your photo, your XP and streak, your game scores and chests, and our email log for your address straight away. Copies in our database backups are overwritten within 14 days. We keep a record of changes our staff made to accounts, for security.

12. Deleting your account

In the app: Profile, then Delete my account. You can also ask us by email; see how to delete your account.

13. Your rights

You have the right to access, correct and delete your data, to restrict or object to its processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. Write to info@skillkraft.ai. You can also complain to a data protection authority; in Berlin this is the Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit.

14. Age

Skillkraft Deutsch is meant for people aged 16 and over.

15. Changes

When the app or website starts handling data differently, we update this page and the date at the top.
